Hey everyone!
It’s been a while since I last posted, but I am back! I came across a video titled “I’m Muslim, But I’m not…” where a bunch of Muslims tried to defy stereotypes about them, particularly those in the US (all of those in the video are American, I think). It was basically them saying “I’m Muslim, but I’m not ‘insert stereotype'”. Cool, right? Overall, it was a nice watch and I liked their positive attitude.
If I were to apply the video’s concept to myself, particularly elements of my identity, I would say:
I’m Egyptian, but I do not like ful. It looks weird, especially when it’s all smashed up, and tastes weirder. Yes, I said it. I do not like ful, never liked it, and never will.
I’m calm, but I’m not introverted. People always assume that since I’m silent and calm most of the time that I am introverted and do not engage that much – just because there’s nothing to say does not mean that I have nothing to say.
Anyway, that’s all for today.
Stay tuned for more blog posts!
