Question 1 : What have you learned intellectually about the topics we’ve covered so far? Please refer to at least four readings, videos, or activities that helped you learn this and explain why. What questions do you still have about these topics, and how might you use your Soliya experience to enrich your knowledge?

Answer : Topic 1: Identity : This topic was very interesting to me to explore how everyone has a different identity and makes him or her unique. Also, I enjoyed the Privilege walk activity and listening to the ted talk “Don’t ask where I’m from, ask where I’m a local” by Taiye Selasi. https://www.ted.com/talks/taiye_selasi_don_t_ask_where_i_m_from_ask_where_i_m_a_local

Topic 2: Fake News: I think fake news are a very common thing that we come across everyday so identifying them were definitely something that i learned.  A game called fake it till you make it helped me know how fake news are made and how do they can show to be true.  https://www.fakeittomakeitgame.com/play/site/da277ru2/home
Topic 3:  Oppression : Oppression  is something that happens to everyone , even though we sometimes don’t notice how it would hurt someone . After seeing the 4 I’s of Oppression Legos video it helped figure out how i can avoid oppressing someone just because they are different. Link : video.
Topic 4: Othering/ Empathy :I think these two topics were one of the most important topics in our course, as most of us can relate to these topics. For the topic othering, I enjoyed reading the article “the problem of othering”. For the topic empathy, I Enjoyed listening to the video “the danger of a single story” and how can we easily empathize and with someone and be on their side without even listening to the other part of the story.
All of these things will help me enrich those ideas with other point of views of other cultures from Soliya.

Question 2: What have you learned about yourself and the way you view the world so far? What questions do you still have about your own self and how you present yourself to the world? How do you expect your identity to affect your Soliya experience as you interact with people from other cultures? How might you use the Soliya experience to enrich your self-knowledge?

Answer : From the topics which i learned in this course it helps me learn many thing about myself like how sometimes I act as a biased person towards a group of people . Another example I learned about myself is how the society I live in is sadly supportive of oppression which I learned from the 4 I’s of Oppression Legos video . I still have questions on how will act with others from completely different cultures and background from Soliya like will i be able to fit in ? I think I’ll either be interactive with others from Soliya or a very shy person so it depends on the people I will meet. I think the interaction of multiple point of views will help me visualize how other backgrounds think as well as it will be fun to get to know how do they think about me.

Question 3: What have you learned in terms of interactions with other people? What questions do you have about how to become a better “global citizen”? How would you like your Soliya experience to help you learn to be a good “global digital citizen”? How might you use your Soliya experience to enhance your ability to interact with culturally different people?

Answer : I learned from the interaction with other people that when someone listens to my point of view with respect I really does the same because in my society it’s very hard for people to be openminded to other point of views. I also learned that I am a person who acts more efficient in a group or when hearing others point of views. I think the only question I have is how to become a professional global citizen because it’s a bit hard for me to interact with people I know I’ll never see except through Soliya . I think soliya will make it easier for me to talk and do activities with others from all over the world and would help in breaking the ice of meeting new people online. Soliya would enhance my ability to do get to know new people , work together, share our views on different topics.
