“What is seen on the outside is only a drop in a sea of what is on the inside”. (Martina Rufaeel, 2024)
Description of the image:
The picture is a portrait of me, Martina, split into two sides: one side is black and white, and the other is colorful. The whole story is on the colorful side. There are three colors in the background (red, white, and black), which tells that I’m Egyptian. I have a smile on my face with sunshine covering my eyes and hair, which tells how optimistic I am (most of the time). I have a flower earring and some plants, a butterfly, and a flower in the background, which refers to my adoration of nature. There’s a cross because I’m Christian. There’s a mermaid tail, which refers to the fact that I’m a fin-swimmer. There’s an arm flexing its bicep, which shows how strong, disciplined, and passionate I believe I am. I also drew some musical symbols to show my love for music (singing and listening). I put a heart, some kisses, and a smiling face to show my love, care, and empathy towards people.
so beautiful Martina – I loved looking at it and seeing different parts of you. My daughter noticed the sun shining on one part and wondered if it’s intentional… so it’s interesting that it WAS intentional.
