Soliya’s Platform

Soliya was an enlightening experience that allowed me to connect with students from around the world in a meaningful way. We had the opportunity to select topics we were passionate about, which made the discussions even more engaging and personal. This was a unique experience since many of my classmates didn’t have the chance to pick their own topics in other courses. I loved how we discussed subjects like social media’s impact on mental health and shared fun cultural trends, such as TikTok’s trending foods in different countries. It was fascinating to hear diverse perspectives and learn about other cultures, and it really helped improve my listening and communication skills. The chance to interact with students from different backgrounds made the experience even more enriching. Although technical issues occasionally made it difficult to stay connected, the overall experience was joyful, and I’m really glad I had the chance to be part of it. I would definitely use Soliya again to engage in cross-cultural discussions and continue learning from others around the world.

Google Docs

Google Docs became one of my go-to tools for projects and papers this semester. I loved how easy it was to collaborate on assignments in real time and give or receive instant feedback. It made teamwork so much smoother compared to emailing files back and forth. Our professor also used Google Docs during a Zoom session to give us feedback on our game ideas, which made the process more interactive and efficient. However, I found that Google Docs can be limiting when it comes to advanced formatting, especially for more complex projects. This tool really helped me build my teamwork and communication skills and made me realize how much I enjoy collaborative work. I’ll definitely continue using Google Docs for group assignments, creative projects, and professional collaborations in the future.

Special Tech & Furniture in Class

The classroom’s tech and flexible furniture made a big difference in how we worked together. The movable tables and chairs encouraged group work, and the smart boards made presentations more interactive. I found myself much more engaged during activities that required collaboration. Overall, I liked how the setup encouraged participation and made the class feel more dynamic. I’d love to be in more classrooms designed this way in future courses because it made learning more hands-on and fun.

Slack

Slack was a lifesaver for staying in touch with classmates and getting quick answers from our Professor. I loved how easy it was to ask questions, share updates, or just stay connected as a class. It was much faster and more casual than email, which I appreciated. However, the constant notifications could sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when I needed to focus. Slack helped me develop better communication habits, and I liked how it created a sense of community. I’d definitely be wanting to use Slack again for group projects or professional teams.

Chatgpt

This semester, I used AI tools like ChatGPT in some really interesting ways. For one of my projects, it helped me create eating disorder scenarios, and I was impressed by how creative and organized its suggestions were. It made planning the game so much easier and even helped me make it fun and engaging for everyone in class. We also used ChatGPT during class sometimes, like when we searched for sources or checked their credibility. I noticed it wasn’t always accurate, so I had to double-check and revise its suggestions, which taught me to think critically about the information I get. I also loved how we used it during our 10-minute activities—it made the games more fun and interactive. Overall, I realized that AI can be a great tool when used carefully, and I’d definitely use it again for creative projects or problem-solving in the future.

Our class blog:

In our class, we had this class blog where we submitted most of our assignments, and it was honestly a cool  twist. Instead of the usual submission methods by using canvas or turnitin, we got to post our work on a blog, which felt more creative. What I really enjoyed was being able to see everyone else’s work on the blog too. It wasn’t just about turning in my own assignments,it gave me a chance to check out how others approached the same topics. It was like having a mini discussion right there on the blog, and it helped clarify things I might have missed or hadn’t thought about. Plus, it made me feel more connected to the class, since I could see how we were all tackling the same challenges in our own ways. It was a fun, interactive twist that made the whole experience feel engaging.
