Seeing Timnit Gebru’s podcast, “Don’t Fall for the AI Hype,” I believed AI was a nice and useful technology. I began searching about artificial intelligence more and found out that AI is made by humans and data that humans do and people spend very much time doing these systems. However, i thought that AI is like independent and humans are not involved as much. The podcast was pertinent to the topics we studied about critical thinking and restricting our use of technology in class. We found out that technology is not always nice because many businesses use it for income and attention. After hearing the podcast, I will be more cautious when using AI technology. I’ll make an attempt to carefully evaluate the facts provided by AI rather than accepting every response at face value. I believe that the course should include more information about the people that work on AI systems and how AI affects the environment. I believe this vital topic should be discussed more. To conclude, AI has some advantages and disadvantages and people should think more about how will it the affect our society.
