Reflection on the article:

This really shows how digital literacy is about much more than just knowing how to use technology, it’s about understanding why you’re using it, when it’s appropriate, and who it affects. The distinction between digital skills (like tweeting or inserting an image) and digital literacy (like choosing ethical images, citing sources, or understanding the audience ) is so important since it can have a real positive or negative effect. I liked how it connected to real-world examples, like the Arab Spring, where social media wasn’t just a tool but a way to navigate risks, build community, and make change. It shows how being digitally literate is about judgment and thinking critically about what you’re doing online, like understanding privacy risks, questioning sources like Wikipedia, or creating accessible content. What stood out to me was the focus on teaching this through real tasks, not just instructions. For example, instead of giving me some instructions about posting a blog, it is giving instructions and giving me the space for applying and exploring how to do so and what else can be done. It’s about having us figure out when and why we can use them. It’s not just about tools, it’s about learning new skills that could help us learn and grow. For me, i never used twitter and i never opened it, but i’m going to give it a try.

Reflection on profile results:

Strengths: my strengths are sharing and caring about identity and well being and I think this is very important because it helps me in being who I am and it also helps me in understanding people more and being able to communicate with everyone based on how they think and feel. Another strength is being a good communicator and a collaborative person and I think they are somehow connected with identity and well being because they all lead to me being understandable and respectful to people.

Area of improvement: I need to start learning new digital skills and digital tools. Also I need to start believing in myself more and trying to learn new challenging things.

goals/ plans: I plan to start learning new tools and to start working on my skills more to be more advanced.

These are the four seasons I experienced and I like how this shows what I was feeling in those times just by looking at the pictures.

The other three I did are:

DS106 reacts: I did a Gif of a reaction I do all the time and it was easy.

Gif with subtitles: I did a gif with subtitles and also it was really easy and fun to do.

Reflection:

this assignment took a lot of time from me and I found some difficulties while doing some but I’m glad I had this assignment because I learned new things by figuring out how to do it not only by instructions. As was mentioned in the article we should learn by trying not only by instructions and I did learn even if it took a lot of time from me but at the end I came up with a lot of new things that I will be applying in the future and also this assignment mad me realize that nothing is hard until you try to do it. I will start trying and learning new things.
