1. I believe that AI is an extremely useful tool that will bring similar to even better results than the industrial revolution, with the ability to automate simple tasks and increase workflows. However, i also believe that thats its limit, AI is just a tool it has its limits and weaknesses although it might be able to replace some routine tasks which will get rid of some jobs, but the potential and opportunity it offers is also endlessly more beneficial for us, more jobs are on the rise due to AI which are forecasted to surpass those lost due to its appearance. AI also does not have that human touch. Some jobs, such as being a nurse, will still thrive and become more appreciated since individuals will most likely be much more comfortable dealing with a human being than a perfect robot. In my field, MICT, AI has already created a massive impact. For example, it helps analyze large amounts of data and identify patterns in customer behavior in a much shorter time than if a human were to do it. It can also assist Product managers in making better decisions about features and improvements. Also, as mentioned earlier, its most viable skill is automation; we can use it to automate tasks such as writing basic documents, generating reports on SAPBO, or assisting in coding. AI is also good for creating summaries of meetings, such as Zoom, which is much more efficient. In the future, I believe AI will become essential for MICT and will be of extreme help in completing tasks; however, it will not be able to replace roles such as product manager, as it depends heavily on being creative, strategic thinking, and understanding human needs

How do you believe AI will be used in my MICT (Management of Information Systems and Communication Technology) major

3) I interviewed Dr Dina Rateb. It was a very interesting interview as she provided me with a unique perspective, which I truly never heard from a professor before. She told me that she actively encourages students to use AI, especially in all her courses, as, since its appearance, she has seen a significant increase in quality and consistency, when asked about students who simply copy paste the work and don’t modify it themselves, she surprised me by saying that she doesn’t care much as at the end of the day ChatGPT and other tools cant do the work for you, it can give you the steps and you will follow them, so by time if tasked to repeat those steps you will end up learning it and getting better and thats all that matters in the end. Her perspective was similar to what I wrote earlier, in which she doesn’t view AI as something that will replace us, but instead helps push us forward. It’s a tool in the end, so it will help us accomplish our goal, and that’s all it can and will do.

4) I interview Mr Mostafa Khattab a project manager in the data warehouse department in CIB, He told me about how he has witnessed AI change in their workplace, he told me that AI in their department did not end up replacing anybody but they use it mostly for automation and sending professional emails, However because of the automation part some individuals jobs basically lost a part of their job so to counter this CIB decided to make it so that everybody in the data warehouse department would receive training to be able to accomplish the other tasks that the other individuals can do that way they can split the tasks more evenly among everybody so that work becomes faster. I think this was very interesting to learn since it never crossed my mind that a company can just give training to the employees who are severely affected by AI and have them work in similar things to what they were already working but isn’t as heavily affected by AI, it was also interesting to hear about how AI actually ended up affecting a big company such as CIB and how they delt with it and plan to utilize it in the future, it not only supported what i already believed in, which was that AI can’t truly ever replace us fully but it showed me how even if AI replaces a certain task/Job company’s can still decide to invest in their employee’s and teach them other skills to help them.

5) This assignment was very interesting, and I really learned a lot listening to professionals in my field. Hearing about how a teacher views AI and is so open about its use was shocking to hear as a student, but as she explained the reasons why, I began to understand why and how it actually makes a lot of sense to not deprive students of the tool. While also listening to her perspective on how she believes AI will never be able to replace MICT graduates, since with her experience and experiments she has done with AI, it has been nowhere close to even being able to fully accomplish a task given to it. So after hearing that, when interviewing the CIB worker, it was interesting to see that this was indeed the case, and AI can’t replace MICT jobs; it can take care of the simple tasks, but when it came to actually doing the intense tasks, it was nowhere near. I personally view AI as a scary tool as it has been constantly evolving ever since it has been made public in 2020, although the existence of it is not new and has been out since the 1900s, the introduction of AI to the public is truly scary as it receives an unfathomable amount of data everyday which is then used to update it and make it faster and more accurate, it truly has endless possibilities and potential the sky is the limit. I believe that as student all i can do is expand my skillset as much as possible and focus on actively using my brain, the moment i end up not relying on critical thinking is the moment AI can easily take over my task, and if i keep improving what im good at it will become extremely difficult for AI to be able to replace me, so i believe this is the best way for any individual to become irreplaceable and thats to keep constantly increasing their knowledge so they become hard to replace.
