1. Write on your own where/how you think AI is currently being used, or might be used in the near future in your field, whether academically while studying or in the workplace.

Ai is currently being used academically while studying and learning by sharing case studies about an incident and AI provides us with all the objects we need to evaluate in order to have the best outcome. Also it helps us as students to get beyond our thinking and listen to different possibilities. I think in the workplace it hasn’t really taken over yet because it is not that developed yet but it helps in giving a background, ideas, summarizing, and doing the basic things. I think AI in the future will have a great part of my field which is Integrated Marketing Communication.

  1. Interview a professor at AUC about this – you can ask them about both academic and professional uses. You can take permission to record the interview in audio and put the recording on your blog, with a summary of your key findings. Or you can take notes. Maybe take a photo with the professor as well 🙂

In an interview with professor Dina Mahmoud she mentioned that AI is going to generate everything in the future like; content, pictures, videos, and text. She also mentioned that it is going to save a lot of time because of how fast it is in collecting information all over the world. She said that AI now is not used a lot, but she believes that it is going to make the work so much easier.

  1. Interview a person in the profession that you know – an older sibling, family friend, etc. If you cannot think of someone you know, you could interview an additional professor who works a lot in the field (some part-time professors are like that) or interview someone from the career center. Again, you can audio-record or take notes, and provide a summary.

I interviewed a friend who is working in a marketing agency and she told me that AI is helping her a lot while doing a market analysis and while doing a desk research and they save her a lot of time. Helping her gather all the information she needs and giving her ideas for what she can produce.

  1. Provide your reflection: were you surprised? What about your findings excite or scare you? Are you feeling anything else? What do you think you need to be doing right now about what you’ve just learned?

I wasn’t surprised because I know that AI is going to take over a lot of fields and make humans less important. Maybe in the future with AI, agencies and factories won’t need that amount of workers. This happened in a movie about robots that I was watching called “subservience”. The robots replaced everyone, even the doctors. This scares me a lot because I feel like humans are going to be less important and I think there will be a lot of corruption. I feel like I need to start learning new things and developing new skills in order to thrive in the future with all of these technologies.
