The Article about Africanness of Northern Africa

The article “How ‘African’ is Northern Africa? · Global Voices”   

shows that there is denial of north African identification as Africans. Regardless of the fact that all these countries are in the AU African Union, the African identity is not much emphasized by the people themselves. Example in Tunisia where the people say they identify more to Arab Muslims than Africans because the constitution of 2014 focuses more on the Arab Islam identity. But there is nothing that stops these countries from joining and playing in African wide competitions and unions.
