My experience in the Soliya Connect Program was meaningful in a simple but important way. When I first joined, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I thought it would be just regular online discussions, but the sessions turned out to be more engaging and more thoughtful than I imagined. One of the main things I learned was the difference between dialogue and debate. This idea helped me a lot. It made me focus more on listening to understand, not listening to reply. I noticed that when I approached conversations this way, discussions felt more respectful and more open. This is something I will continue using even outside the program. The icebreakers helped the group feel more relaxed. They made it easier for me to speak up, especially in the first sessions when I didn’t know anyone. Over time, I became more comfortable sharing my thoughts and asking questions. The group felt safe, and that encouraged me to participate more. The breakout room discussions on topics like education, AI, and happiness versus success helped me see how people from different backgrounds think differently about the same issues. Sometimes we agreed and sometimes we didn’t, but the conversations were always respectful. It taught me that people’s experiences shape their ideas, and understanding makes communication easier. Throughout the program, I noticed small changes in myself. I became more confident speaking in a group and more comfortable listening to views that were different from mine. I also learned how to ask clearer and more helpful questions. These are skills I’m glad I developed. What I appreciated most about Soliya was that it felt natural. It wasn’t formal or stressful. It was simply a space to talk, listen, and learn from others. Each session added something to my understanding of communication and perspective-taking. Overall, Soliya was a positive experience for me. It helped me grow in how I communicate and how I handle different opinions. I’m grateful for what I learned and for the conversations we shared.
