AI Brainstorm session:
I don’t think I’m much closer to deciding on a game idea yet, I have yet to really have any strong ideas. The brainstorm session didn’t help much either, however there was one idea that Gemini gave that I found interesting, here is what it wrote:
The Reflective Lens (Focus on: Reflection, Filmmaking, Perspective, Empathy)
- The Concept: You play as a documentary filmmaker (Filmmaking, Telling stories) tasked with creating a series of short films about different people in a community facing a complex social issue (e.g., gentrification, resource allocation).
- The Gameplay Loop: Each chapter is a new subject. You must Research your subject’s situation and conduct interviews (Speaking). Your choices revolve around which questions to ask, how to edit the footage (shaping the story), and how to frame the narrative.
- The Ikigai & Strengths Connection:
- Goal: To foster Empathy and Reflection in the audience.
- Core Mechanic: The player’s choices test their Fairness and Perspective. Do you sensationalize for views or tell the whole, nuanced truth (Honesty)?
- Success: A “good” ending is achieved by presenting a balanced view that leads the community toward Acceptance and a positive Rearrangement.

This is Ferris, right?
This is a super interesting idea for a video game! It sounds very high-concept and I am curious how it would translate into actual gameplay, but I think it’s possible. I would love to know more about the player’s interface and how they would be able to make a controlled range of decisions without the game being too abstract or too limiting.
