Academic use:

Current Use: There are already many academic tools powered by AI, such as automated evaluation and reporting systems, plagiarism checkers, as well as various smart learning instructional and management systems which do address the students’ needs and improve the learning process.

Future Use: AI in the foreseeable future could help prepare help in planning time tables, create individual instructional programs or perform a role of a virtual research assistant and help both students and faculty by quickly looking into many sources of information.

Professional Use:

Current Use: AI being employed for predictive analysis using data mining solutions in industries like healthcare, as well as the finance industry to detect fraud and measure risks, and the marketing industry for conducting customer studies, and working with content generation automatically.

Future Use: It won’t be long before AI takes over more higher order thinking tasks for creative industries by content generation, automates more complex decision making and enhances project management by providing realistic AI tools that directs the distribution of management resources and optimizes workflow.

2- I asked ChatGpt how Ai will be used in my field ( Integrated Marketing Communication), it stated several ways such:

Personalized marketing

Chatbots and customer support

Content creation

Predictive analytics

Sentiment analysis

Voice and visual search

3- I used Ai to help me come up with the questions i asked  the professor and my cousin:

Here is the summary of the interview written:

Student : “How is Ai currently being used across the masses? Are there tools or systems which you have found effective in your way of teaching?”

Professor: “AI has become an essential component in academics. When it comes to teaching, we employ AI assistive technologies like custom-made learning tools that are easier for each student to utilize based on what they already know. It’s really appealing from an individual perspective since they alter the level of the task a student is capable of accomplishing and do so on a student as an individual. AI, for example, streamlines tasks and reduces workloads allowing for faster, accurate data interpretation by the millions. There are machine learning systems that identify certain features in extensive datasets that it would take weeks or months for humans to sift through.”

Student: “What are the effects of AI technology in today’s academic space? Have you observed AI in action that is focused on data wrangling, mining and inference generation?”

Professor: “Definitely yes. AI is extremely useful for data analysis in academia and many other domains which require working with gigabytes or terabytes size datasets, such as social science or biology, for example. Correlation and causation that may not be obvious at first may be researched and revealed with the support of AI algorithms. Some AI systems are even formulating research questions or writing the content of scholarly articles which assists the researchers to better utilize time.”

Student: “Moving to the professional side, how do you see Ai being integrated into industries outside of academia,  in fields such as marketing and communication in particular?”

Professor: “Ai is rapidly changing the way businesses deal with their consumers in marketing. By using background information to predict what data or product a consumer would be interested in, Ai can tailor marketing campaigns. In customer service, Ai chatbots  answer the consumer’s questions which frees up human workers from difficult tasks. Also, when consumer data is being evaluated, businesses are being assisted in making defensible decisions and the development of a more modern and efficient communication plan.”

4- I will be interviewing my cousin who is a computer science major and she works in this field.

Student: “Let’s start with your work. In what ways AI has influenced the performance of your work? ‘Are there specific AI tools you use regularly?’’

Interviewee:

“Well, AI has most certainly become a crucial part of my work. One tool I utilize on a daily basis is an AI analytics software. It allows me to monitor how customers behave in the present and see why specific campaigns were successful or not. It’s like having two marketing people but unlike the second one, this one doesn’t sleep. But yes, AI facilitates the delegation of tasks such as targeting new customers with tailored emails or categorizing our existing customers to their interests. That is a lot of time saved for me!”

  1. AI’s Impact on Customer Interaction

Student:

“That sounds really efficient. I am also curious how you deal with customer interaction? Do you have any observations on AI giving brands a better connection with the audience?”

Interviewee:

“Definitely! Chatbots are an absolute killer feature. For example, we’ve started placing them on our pages with customer support and it’s remarkable how fast they have gone from being able to respond to the FAQ. Initially, they would do baby questions but now they get a lot of more advanced questions and they can also take the customers through the buying process.

AI works around the clock and in our minds feels like a team member stationed at the front lines, but there are still some elements that only humanity possesses, because there are emotions that AI cannot fully replicate.”

Student:

“Is there one aspect, theme, or trend you think AI in marketing will explode in the next couple of years? How about any trends or developments that you have a keen interest in?”

Interviewee:

“That is a very good question. AI is not going to get any less intelligent. I am looking forward to predictive analytics. Currently, we can anticipate trends and customer actions to a particular point, but in the future, it is entirely feasible that AI will be able to predict trends with more accuracy, which allows us to always be a step ahead. Besides, AI-assisted content construction is gradually becoming a possibility. What if you could automatically produce relevant blogs or social media contents in line with the latest news? Some people would say it is currently occurring in certain businesses. But again, it’s going to be a mixture of automation and pure creativity and artistry.”

5- Reflection

The interviews accomplished and examined the role of AI in both an educational and business context, I must say that it came as somewhat of a spontaneous shock just how AI is embedded into the concept of marketing. Whether it’s customer service support in the style of auto-response chatbots or even predicting people’s purchases with AI, it’s not future oriented; it’s here and it’s disrupting the industry as we speak.

It is the opportunities of AI in bringing improvement in creativity and efficiency that I’m most enthusiastic about. Tools that help with the mechanical repetition of work such as data processing or creation of marketeers’ content enable a marketer to engage in strategy and new processes. What I also see as new possibilities of AI isthe way ai is used to personalize consumer experience.

However, there are some things that concern me ; Particularly the ethical concerns such as data privacy and algorithm prejudice. Ai may unintentionally promote biases if it is not trained on a wide range of data. Moreover, the possibility that Ai may replace jobs one day raises questions about job security and how to strike a balance between automation and  creativity especially in fields such as marketing.

Right now, I feel both nervous and excited about what technology has to offer in the future and how it will be utilized in our daily lives.
