“So that is how to create a single story, show people as one thing, as only one thing, over and over again, and that is what they become.”

Although Adichie says that single stories are what one hears or knows from a single angle and does not pursue further angles of the story, there may be no bad intentions behind it, like her mother telling her about the poor family. However, the mechanism of single-storytelling in our modern world made me think: we have a lot of single-story propaganda. Single stories are supported by political motives or individual intentions, are often heard by people, then reinforced by peer influence, and then treated as fact. The idea of believing the single-story narration is one of the things that make people biased against each other. Adichie states that the solution is to know more stories; however, I do not believe it is sufficient. In my opinion, if one knows himself and what he stands for, it will be easier to deal with himself and others by having a clear vision of what should be done and what should not.
