I attended the somatic healing session with Luciana, and it was a new experience for me. I did not know much about somatic healing before, but the session helped me understand how the body reacts to stress and comfort in simple ways. At the beginning of the session, she asked us to close our eyes and focus on our breathing. We were asked to breathe in and out slowly and notice how our bodies felt. Then, she asked us to change our posture and put our bodies in an uncomfortable position and later return to a comfortable one. After each step, she asked us how we felt. This made me realize how quickly the body reacts and how different feelings can change just by breathing or changing posture.

She also taught us simple breathing exercises that can be used in stressful situations like exams or meetings. Breathing in, holding the breath for a few seconds, then breathing out and holding again made me feel calmer and more focused. Another exercise that stood out to me was the orienting exercise, where we focus on things around us, like colors or shapes, to help reduce anxiety and bring attention back to the present moment. During the session, she explained different ways to deal with stress, panic, or feeling overwhelmed, such as using hot and cold water, gentle movement, or self-contact like tapping.

She also talked about co-regulation, which means sitting next to someone who feels safe and supportive, without the need to talk or explain anything. Overall, the session helped me become more aware of my body and how it reacts to different situations. It was simple, calming, and very practical. I feel like these techniques are easy to use in daily life and can really help in stressful moments.
